Laureen Kouassi-Olsson is the Regional Head of West and Central Africa and Investment Director, Head of Financial Institutions at Amethis.
Ms. Kouassi-Olsson is responsible for Amethis’ investment strategy in the financial sector, including the sourcing, structuring and supervision of deals execution as well as the management of the Financial Institutions investment portfolio. She also serves as board member for Ciel Finance (Mauritius), PetroIvoire (Côte d’Ivoire) and Amethis West Africa and is an alternate Director at the Board of Fidelity (Ghana).
Prior to joining Amethis in 2013, Ms. Kouassi-Olsson was Investment Officer in the Financial Institutions Group of Proparco where she was responsible for the appraisal and structuring of investment opportunities in the financial services industry of Sub-Sahara Africa. Previously, she worked in Mergers and Acquisitions for Lehman Brother’s Investment Banking Department in London.
Ms. Kouassi-Olsson holds a Master in Science of Management (Msc) with a specialization in Corporate Finance and Capital Markets from the EM Lyon Business School. She is a native of Côte d’Ivoire and is fluent in English and French.
